We are all terrified right now.

I’m not going to list all the reasons why we should be terrified. You know all the reasons.

But me, I’m also angry and doing what I can to fight back.

Maybe it’s because I came of age politically when Reagan was in office and my first job out of college was campaigning to stop offshore oil & gas drilling off the Florida coast. And we won!

Maybe it’s because I was there when Newt Gingrich and his Contract with America tried to rollback environmental protections. And we stopped him!

Maybe it’s because I was shocked when Gore got more votes than Bush, but Bush became president and tried to dismantle the Endangered Species Act. And the law still stands today!

Maybe it’s because when I was born, if a man loved a man or a woman loved another woman they were thought to be mentally ill and society wouldn’t support their love. And now gays and lesbians can get married!

Since Trump and Pence took the oaths of office they have started efforts to dismantle decades of progress toward a cleaner environment and a fairer and more inclusive society.

Some are saying, “give him a chance, it might not be so bad.”

Some are saying, “just calm down, being vocal and protesting isn’t the way to win people to your side.”

But I’m saying, Fuck Calm Fight Back!

I know that a website alone will not stop Trump and Pence. But every piece of The Resistance helps. I hope this website will offer a little bit of help and hopefully some fun along the way. (Laughing can be as important as rightful indignation.)
